Nadja was very depressed and depressing last night. She just doesn't expect and feel anything good will ever happen to her again since her recovery from her addiction. The whole group was doing everything in it's power to cheer her but she blatantly said there was nothing anyone could do make her happy--she was determined to feel bad! How sad! What a terrible way to live your life!
I'm reprinting something here that I have as a magnet on my ventilation hood over my cook top. Most of the time I don't even notice that it's there but yesterday I read it and it made me feel so good. I hope the author doesn't mind my reprinting it here. If so, I apologize and will make a donation to whatever cause you designate!
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self centered. - Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. - Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies. - Succeed anyway!
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you. - Be honest and frank anyway!
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight. - Build anyway!
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous. - Be happy anyway!
The good you do today people will often forget tomorrow. - Do good anyway!
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. - Give the world the best you have anyway!
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God. - It was never between you and them anyway!

Mom,
So sad to hear of Nadja. But I think there is merit in loosing all hope. Unfortunately it is so often mixed in with despair. If you can imagine having no hope without the numbness of despair, where everything that dose go your way is recognized. I think you might see where having no hope is a good thing.
I am reminded of the story of the two bad bricks. A guy is building a wall and is very meticulous in his placement of each and every brick. He painstakingly lays down the mortar and insures that every brick is in place properly when it is setting. Wanting every thing to be perfect. Upon completion of the wall he sees that two of the bricks shifted and are sticking out from the otherwise perfect wall. He begs his boss to let him tear it down and start over but is denied.
Every time he passes the wall he is reminded of his failure. He is so embarrassed that he tries to steer people away from the wall. He dose not want others to see his mistake. One day he sees someone staring at the wall. Full of chagrin he goes up to this person and asks if he can help them. The person says that they are just admiring the wall. The bricklayer says “no, no, no! this wall is terrible, are you blind? Cant you see the two bad bricks sticking out there?”
The admirer says yes, I do see the two bad bricks, but I also see the 1998 other bricks that are perfect.
If we did not have flaws we could not appreciate perfection.
Thank you for sharing the quote.
Have another great day!
Love,
Jordan
