Above left--see my state women's tournament bowling team! Didn't set the world on fire but we had fun! Seven of us crammed into our mini-van and traveled up to Plano for the event. Met the rest of the other team up there--we were lucky to fit 7 old ladies and their equipment into one car!
Earlier in the spring, three hens collaborated to hatch out ONE baby! It was fun watching them all vie for motherhood privileges! He/she is growing up well--doesn't look like it will be as ugly as Covert but interestingly is sprouting black feathers--must be a throw-back to the black frizzle roosters we had since two of his "moms" and are white frizzles and one is red! Oh well--that's genetics for you!
In the upper right, you see my 66th birthday present to myself! A retro bike! Gloriously pink and NO GEARS OR HAND BRAKES! I LOVE it! My husband says it looks like a Barbie bike - he's trying to insult me! But I don't care. I can ride this bike and not have to wonder/worry which gear I'm supposed to be in! Of course, right now it's 99 degrees down here so there won't be much riding for awhile. But it's there when I want it!
Other acquisitions: a new (unneeded) refrigerator--the other one went to the garage. I love this new French door fridge with the freezer on the bottom and the main part at eye level. Not losing nearly as many things in it! The only thing is we suspect it could have been made here in Aggieland as it only makes ice when the "no ice" button is pushed! Go figure!
And the latest and greatest! A new computer. Went for a Mac this time! With a 24" screen! Have been a pc person all my life but my son and brother finally convinced me this was the way to go! Cannot believe how easy it is to operate and adjust to! Yes, there are a few things I miss and some of my old pc programs too. But I'm discovering new things every day and a lot of what I miss is more than made up for by the advantages I have. Maybe I am proof that you really can teach an old dog new tricks!
Is this enough updating?! I'll try not to let it go for so long next time!
Peace!
Carol
