World's Ugliest Rooster

This is "Covert"! We call him that because when we got him a year and a half ago, we had no idea he would turn out this way! In fact, as he grew up, we thought he was a hen and felt sorry for him because it appeared that everyone picked on him.! Well, guess what? We haven't been able to tell that he's picked on any more than anyone else (although who could blame them?!). He just looks this way all the time and has from the time he was a baby.

Also, we assumed he was a hen until we knew we'd separated out the roosters and then one day we heard crowing! He was finally outed!

He does what roosters do--molests as many hens as often as he can. Other than that, he walks crooked--can't seem to walk in a straight line so it takes him awhile before he gets to where he wants to go! Have no idea how he's survived as long as he has. This is his first summer as an adult and with temps here in Texas in the 100s, it will be interesting to see how he fares. Obviously, he's a survivor.

Maybe we can learn something from him? Not sure just what?! Anyone have any suggestions?
