Found it interesting that someone else besides Jordan posted to my blog! GREAT!
Walked this AM and then worked with Dad in the garden uncovering more fledgling blackberry plants and beginning to uncover the asparagus patch. It was cooler today and not so humid with a good cloud cover. Still-an hour is about enough for me outside. Came in and "chilled" for awhile before cleaning another small patch of carpet. Then showered and started in "Aunt Carol" mode making not only Dad's cookies but some chocolate chunk--yes, Jordan, I'll be sending you some!
Then it was more (on request!) garlic shrimp, zuchhini, salmon and couscous. The icemaker came in and Dad set it up! Ice again! How I missed it! The store-bought kind is such a pain! Especially this last batch that had to be chipped away! Now to have our own, wonderful, individual discs!!!! It really is the simple things.
Jenn was late and apologetic and complimentary (this place smells amazing!). Jeff came in exhausted after a board meeting and Benjamin was pretty nice. Jenn shared with me something he'd said to his other "Nanny" who'd sent him home with some pj's. He called her and told her he didn't want them as "Mai Mai" makes my pajamas now! Jennifer told me I don't measure up as badly as I think I do as a grandmother and I appreciated her comments.
Got a nice invitation for Grandparents' Day from Allen Academy for a luncheon at a private country club. In the past, the event has been on a Thursday and I haven't made it because that's the day I bowl and don't figure Benjamin really wants me there anyway. But I can make this one. Jeff says they'll hit us up for money!
The "Touch Me" bracelet didn't work out and I discussed it with Jennifer and found out why--some of which I suspected. I'll try again but did enjoy the peyote stitch and love the feel of the beads in that stitch. Makes me want to do more.
Tomorrow--now today!--will be busy with bowling and then some shopping. I'll probably stop by the shop and maybe Hobby Lobby to look at patterns they have for 99 cents. I'll be taking vacation pics to show off. It's good for me to be social and talk with others but still like hovering in my cave.
Hurricane hitting the coast--we may get rain out of it and could use some. Hard to pull weeds today. Just hope it knows when to quit!
I should probably try to get back to sleep! But glad I wrote!
Love and peace!

Mom,
Welcome to the blogosphear and the joys of having a public diary!
Our weather is shifting here as well. The mists have set in this morning. Time to bid our goodbyes to the sun until next summer. I am hoping for a few cameo appearances of the big orange ball in the sky every now and then.
Hurray for cookies! Now if I can only hide them from Iris, she will eat them all if she has her way.
On the Nanny. Mai Mai thing, all I can say I have already said but I will say it again. It is not a competition.
Have fun shopping beading and bowling, I am poor at finding a balance between being social and staying in my cave. My cave is just more comfy for me.
Stay dry if you can,
Love,
Jordan
